I’ve already posted dry ice recordings that I did several years ago. So I won’t go into the science behind why dry ice reacts to metal the way it does. Read the previous post or Google if you are interested. I was never totally happy with those recordings. When you do something for the first time, you learn as you go. I felt that I could get better results if I tried again. So I did. I gathered up way more dry ice than I would ever need (just in case). I went through my house and grabbed anything metal I could find. When I was done recording I had about 90 minutes of material over 37 takes. After editing, it came out to 254 individual wav files. Last time I did the dry ice, I recorded at 24 bit 96K. This time I recorded at 24 bit 192K. Recording at a high sample rate like this would allow me to slow/pitch the recordings down while loosing very little of the detail in the sounds.
