Dog Crate Training
A dog crate is a metal and plastic cage for your dog to sleep in or be in while you are away, the crate helps give your dog a secure place to live while in your home and a place to retreat to when things get a bit to hectic as they do in many family homes today.
Crate training is a very popular and effective technique for teaching your dog right from wrong; this method includes teaching rules of eliminating, sleeping arrangements, and keeping your dog from being destructive when you are out amongst many other benefits.
To crate train you must choose a correctly sized crate that your dog or puppy will be able to grow into with time and they will not be too cramped or have too much space. If your dog has a crate that is too small they won’t want to live there or go there and if the crate is too large it leads to eliminating problems.
You should make your dog feel as comfortable as you can in their crate; this should include putting a bowl of water with your dog in their crate, a nice easily cleanable blanket and put them in an area that is widely used by the family so they always feel part of what is going on.
When you are out, your dog can be closed in their crate to ensure common bad behavioural problems don’t happen while you are out such as chewing, biting and eliminating in the house. Be sure not to keep your dog in their crate for longer than about 4 hours and to let them go to the toilet on a regular basis.
Dogs will naturally not want to eliminate in their place of sleep so as you dog gets used to its new sleeping area it will want to go to the toilet only when they are let out so be sure to take them to their appropriate place for eliminating when they are let out, then reward them for behaving in the correct manner.
Always reward your dog for using the crate in the correct way and be sure all members of the family know that the dog should not be pestered in their crate. As long as this rule is followed then you won’t go far wrong and you will begin to notice great improvements in your dog’s behaviour immediately.

What is it?? … I mean there are schools that offer dog training certificates .. but you do not need them to train dogs … in fact most good trainers don't go to school, they learn from other good trainers.
If you want to start training dogs, you have several options, go hang fliers advertising your services. Take you well trained dog to a dog park & when people ask how you got your dog to behave so well, tell them your a trainer, go to petco/petsmart and get a job as a dog trainer as they will take people without experience and love people who are experienced, go to a local kennel club and ask about a job, go to a local shelter and ask if they are hiring or looking for volunteers (if you can help a few dogs there, the staff will recommend you to everyone) and on and on
But I don't know what you mean by 'license' there are business licenses, but I think you'll have to be Incorporated and such to need them
good luck
Crate training provides a safe "den" like environment for your dogs.
They are helpful in traveling situations for keeping your dog safe.
They are helpful for potty training.
There really are no cons to it…accept that it nice to snuggle in bed them once in awhile:)
I would only recomend electric "shock" collars as a last resort, because they can do more bad then good. Imagine every time you scold your dog he gets a painful shock to the neck. Do you think he's going to want to listen or be around you?
It sounds to me like you have spoiled him and let him become dominant. A lot of people make that mistake. You now have to establish your dominance. I'll use the couch situation for example. He's on the couch, and that's fine, as long as he gets down when you command it. Go up to him and say down firmly, but dont yell it. If he doesn't, say it louder, but deepend your voice, this makes you sound more dominant. If he starts to growl, grab him by his scruff and pull him off, saying no in the deep loud voice.
If he growls at you, show him its not ok, show him you are the boss. You can either grab his scruff and lift him up just enough that his front feet are off the ground and inch, or flip him! Flipping is an awesome way to establish dominance, and sometimes it needs to be done. pin them on their side or on their back and kinda stand/kneel above them so your face is about a foot above theirs. Then say no in the same loud, deep, strong voice and stare in to their eyes for a couple seconds. This shows that you are the boss and they need to obey you.
One of my frequent pieces of advice for people wanting to start agility is to go watch some classes, and talk to the instructors, before deciding which class to take. I'm always amazed at how many people will sign up for a class (agility, pet, whatever) with the only criterion being that it is the closest one! For people getting started in any dogsport, I want some time spent on foundation behaviors first, with the focus being on developing good teamwork. Person has to learn to reinforce appropriately, set appropriate criteria, direct the dog correctly, and dog needs to learn the specific skills, and that working with his person is the best thing that happens in his world. If I watch an advanced class and I don't see that teamwork, then that isn't the instructor for me.
