Question by C C: Best puppy food for my AmStaff puppy – and how much does basic training usually cost? Richmond, Va.?
I want my puppy to only have the best and healthiest food to make her strong but I don’t know what that would be. Also I have limited funds (very) and she is going to need some basic training after she is spayed. How much does that normally cost, when should I start, how long does it usually take and does the trainer have to come into your home or do you make visits? Thanks ahead of time for any help.

A group puppy class is usually 6-8 weeks long and about 0 at a big chain pet store, a little less at a community center. You can start at 5-6 months.

Spaying, when all costs are accounted for, is about 0 … but there are lower cost options all the way to free through many humane societies.

Dry food of the best quality is something like a Eukanuba or Science Diet. Find the a discount provider in your area. (There are many higher priced brands — my favorite is Merrick — but given your budget and the size of your dog I’d check out the other ones I named first.)
