Jezreel asked:
I recently adopted an adult dog from the animal shelter and she is NOT potty trained. My other two dogs are, and I’ve trained several puppies, but this is the first time I’ve gotten an adult dog that obviously has never been indoors. I’m asking for help, not suggestions to take her to a trainer. I’m trying to do this myself. Thanks

I found some good info on Aggressive dog training at: http://traindogquick.com/aggressive-dog-training-advice/
but wanted to know if anyone here uses any form of shock to treat a dogs agression also? Thanks
Reply:
“Quickly” and “Aggression” do NOT go together no matter how you put it.
That website is 100% incorrect on all accords. When your dog is dog aggressive, you don’t FEED them together. Good lord, thats like asking the dogs to kill each other.

Branden asked:
Is there a reason why people don’t use a silent whistle to train their dog for the show ring? I see at the dog shows, German Shepherds, that owners run around the ring while ringing bells to make their dog look good, ears up and proud. Why wouldn’t one use a silent whistle for this? It could then actually be used at an all-breed show — maybe ??

The GSD people do this, it is something called double handling.
The handler is in the ring and someone is outside with bells or other things. It is not supposed to be allowed, but they are the only breed I think that does this much.
